June 21st, 3078
Planet: Hellespoint
Command desk

Drakno was reading the latest Hyper message from High command. The council wants the 7th
Cavalry to make plans and ready itself for an invasion of Regis Roost. Support units would be
coming from various area's and should be arriving soon in system. As the rest of the letter was
nothing more than politics about the who's and why's. Drakno just shook his head as the same
old stories never seems to end.

The idea of hitting Regis Roost had been on Drakno's mind many of times but the intell reports
about 26th WOB division as well as rumors of the 46th Shadow division on the planet had kept
him from making any serious runs at the planet. What made it not a target in his book was the
fact that three naval yards where built somewhere in the asteroid belt around the third planet.
All together and one sees the big ugly picture and the mass amount of forces needed for such
an invasion. Yet now, here it was a mission and things where moving faster than any commander
would like. Support and supplies where going to be key to a long fight. Drakno leans back in his
chair and thinks about what they have and what will be needed. One thing for sure was that
ammo would be a major issue in such a fight. The word also had terrian and defenses on their side.
Even more is they have time.

The first target would be the naval bases and what type of fleet was surrounding Regis Roost.
Intell had reported the same type of military bases as that built on Gibson though not with the
same factory abilities. This means they could have anti-ship subcapital weapons on the ground
which would make closing on the planet risky at best. the naval firepower would be key in taking
Regis Roost.

Even if they did make it to orbit above the planet, with heavy built in bases and military units
just from the Word of Blake and the Shadow divisions would be enough to make any commander
pale. The great unknow factor and father Murphy which all good commanders add in is what
about Taurain forces. Intell reports have been quiet and units seemed to have gone of screen.
That alone could change a battle when unknown units flank your forces in the middle of a fight.

Drakno just sat back in his chair and looked over at the huge map on the wall that had just been
made and updated with the latest geo-sat reports that could be found. Even knowing the terrain
and having maps, it's the underground that can't be mapped and will always be in the back of his
mine as they invade Regis Roost, if they make it that far. They question for know is how much
support and from whom will that support come from. The clock is ticking and D-day is coming to quick.

June 26th, 3078
Planet: Hellespoint
Field Command training center
Southern Base

The southern base on Hellespoint was the closest terrian to that of Regis Roost. The mountians
and rivers where almost the same though it was more jungle in nature the heat would be good
for the troops. The 7th Cavalry for the time being was the main force with a Level II from comstar
and a company from Federation of Suns was all that had made the trip.

Naval forces where not much better though comstar did have a surprise for the 7th Cavalry. A
rebuilt Robinson class transport warship had just been made operational though there was still work
to be done, it was the first warship they had. The three Type 96 dropships had been altered to
make work the battle armor units instead of infantry and some weapons had been upgraded. The
Magellan class jumpship from comstar was going to be used for their secret pocket warship that was
under construction at a near by base. We hope it will be something worth while.

Over all plans where forming up but the clock was running down and intell reports had not much to
offer on Regis Roost. In fact the silence was starting to make the Commodore wonder about the whole
mission. If things don't change soon, the mission will be nothing more than a shooting feast for the
forces of Blake.

[Two days later]
The commadore was sitting in his office reading the latest training reports. Most of the issues and
reformations of the forces have been worked out and things where running smoothly. The forces
where getting use to the ability to change at the Cabs level. (Cabs meaning Combine Arms battalion
-short) While each troop (company) was over strength with 4 lances instead of 3 lances. There where
only two troops per squadron (battalion). The Type 96 dropships could only carry Cabs units and so
it was easier to change formations than rebuild or buy new ships.

As the mroning rolled on several reports and updates began coming in and most was the everyday
stories you come to expect as a commanding officer. It was when Precent Harris came in with news
that Comstar had made a few contacts and Devil Stone gave his blessing on the new equipment and
the coming mission. The news was a breath of fresh air as new personal and equipment was coming
but there was no details as of yet. Though know ahead of time would be nice, at this point anything
would be a nice addition to the force.
